Program for Art and Craft Classes

 

Ages: 3 - 4: painting, drawing, clay modeling, woodworking, book-making. Making art presents for all holidays and special events.

 Developing artistic and learning skills at an early age will aid various areas of development. Art will teach your child to put concepts into action, problem solve and to use creative visualization while also improving co-ordination and self-confidence.

 

Ages 5 - 6: ​painting, drawing, sculpture, polymer clay, collage, mixed media and much more. Beginning to learn the history of art and applying techniques.

 Kids will develop techniques using range of art materials exploring many art elements

Classes are kept small to ensure individual creativity is fostered and enhanced.

 

Ages 6 - 8: continuing to develop basic drawing and painting techniques by using different materials and art styles. Curriculum is varied to include teaching still-life, the figure, landscape, portraiture, cartooning, clay sculpture and more.

 

Age 9 - 10:  Watercolors, soft and oil pastel, painting on canvas paper, canvas board and stretched canvas using acrylics. Students will be inspired as they learn the techniques, style and vocabulary of such artists as Rembrandt, Renoir, Modigliani, Picasso, Canadian artists. Understanding Modern Art and using new generation techniques.
